Rust Bucket Outlasts WFA Field In Tucson
Tucson, AZ (May 7, 2016) -
The Western Fuel Altereds, presented by Torco Racing Oils, headlined the 2016 Tucson Dragway Reunion at Tucson Dragway. New track owner Jim Hughes and the Standard 1320 internet group continued this annual tradition of treating fans to a steady diet of cackle cars, old and new cars making test and tune runs and the Fuel Altereds.

With this being the last race of the season, there was considerable attention being paid to the championship points standings. Lyle Greenberg brought a slim 7 point lead into this race over 2nd place Mitch Bowen, with Greg Holman a mere 2 points behind him.
The qualifying session started off with Lyle Greenberg setting a potential series record with a 6.39 at 214 mph in the first run of the session. Defending WFA champion Eric Gates ended up 2nd at a 6.68 and Mic Williams took his new Hemi...
