The Tucson Fuel Altered Nationals is a tradition that has been going since the early 70’s. This event has a huge following of fans and is very well attended. Make sure you guys have plenty of hero cards!
This year the event has been changed to a two day event, Friday and Saturday Night, June 3rd and 4th. We’ll make 2 passes on Friday night. The first pass is a mandatory non-payout round. Each car that makes a pass will receive 10 series points. The second pass on Friday night will be for payout with the quick 8 cars getting paid $200. Points will also be awarded based upon qualifying order. Saturday night will be our standard format, two payout rounds and a final round. To summarize, this event will have a total of 3 payout rounds and a final round. Final round will be the two low et’s, from the payout rounds, of the weekend.
If you’re on the fence of whether to attend or not… This will be the largest payout of money and points of any event this year.
Paid member entry is: Free car/driver, 4 crew and 2 vehicle passes. You must be pre-entered with WFA, one week in advance, to get in free. Pre-entry deadline is May 29th. You must be a paid member to participate in this event.
Friday – Gates open at 10am. You can get in anytime after that. If you need to park on Thursday, they are normally there until 5pm. Please call and confirm with the track. We will have a mandatory drivers meeting, 5pm at my trailer. The first round will be about 7pm.
Saturday – Similar schedule to Friday although we will not have another meeting.
All payout will be done at the end of the event. Friday night payout will not be issued prior to the end of the event.
As a reminder there are a couple new rules in effect this year. A complete rule book is available for download off the website: http://www.wfaseries.com/WFA%20Rules%202011.pdf
